Open Source Intelligence

The Open Source Intelligence, or OSINT, is one way to collect information. More precisely, the open source intelligence consists in finding “raw intelligence material” from publicly available sources.

This is a part of the intelligence cycle as soon as you decide to analyse the information you found.

The Open Source Intelligence, which is based on the Open Source Information (OSIF) is often used to achieve competitive intelligence.

There are other methods of intelligence such as HUMINT (Human Intelligence), IMINT (Imagery Intelligence) or SIGINT (Signals Intelligence).
