In partnership with CELI and Xerox Research Centre Europe AMI is pleased to announce the launch of the "Scoop Project" website.

The Scoop Project is developing an innovative software application to deal with the complete process of search, acquisition, analysis and representation of online opinions.

In September 2009, we announced the launch of the European research program that aims to develop software applications to analyze in detail Internet user opinion. Semantic and Sentiment analysis have been the driving force of development in research behind the scenes to date.

Analysis of public opinion "online" has grown significantly and offers many opportunities. The spontaneity that characterises this type of communication, that is to say opinions obtained without any solicitation, and the electronic nature of this data presents a new field of investigation for all professionals involved in opinion and sentiment analysis which is complementary to traditional methods.

In April 2008 AMI launched AMI Opinion Tracker and in so doing made available a first and comprehensive offering to perform this type of analysis.

The Xerox Research Centre Europe has world recognized expertise in the development of text mining and automatic language processing tools including syntax and semantics. CEFI, which has developed specialist expertise in sentiment analysis, completes this alliance.

Scoop will soon have the software applications compatible with AMI Opinion Tracker which will allow an Analyst to quickly assess user tone and sentiment in a way that is well beyond a simple count of words classified as "positive" or "negative" as is primarily done currently.

The Scoop project is part of the strategy to commercialise AMI’s latest technology offerings in these areas of research and invest in ambitious research programs by creating an alliance with leading experts in the field. The citation of AMI recently by European authorities as a “Eurostar” reinforces the company’s sound approach to research direction and innovation development.
