The Signature

AMI works on textual information from whole documents, paragraphs, requests, etc and makes it possible to search, compare, classify, evaluate and summarise texts.

AMI analyses texts directly and builds an internal representation which gives the meaning of the text and its significance and in so doing creates the Signature.

The calculation of the Signature is a key part of AMI and is driven by our patented technology. An important characteristic of the AMI Signature is that it can be weighted. More relevant information will be analysed more deeply giving the corresponding signature a higher degree of precision.

As a result the Signature can become a particularly detailed object. The comparison between signatures makes it possible to measure the “distance” in terms of relevance between two texts. The more detailed the two signatures are the more accurate and thus precise the “distance” between texts.

In the same way it is also entirely possible to measure the distance between a simple Signature and a detailed one - in this case the relevance determined will be less which will be reflected in the delivered results.

The Signature is a representation specific to AMI and allows the functions of Search, De-duplication and Categorisation. It is stored in an index to accelerate the process of searching for signatures and to quickly give the user an outline of the document to which it refers.
